2024 Maine Sea Grant American Lobster Initiative Sponsor

We are excited to share that Dirigo Science Connection was a program sponsor for the Maine Sea Grant American Lobster Initiative Regional Research & Outreach Summit! The sponsorship went directly to help fund a graduate student’s registration for the event. The two-day summit, February 12-13 focused on building bridges across all groups harvesting, researching, and managing lobster to address and collaboratively develop solutions to new challenges the industry is facing. This event was a way to bring the network together to share updates, receive feedback, and embark on new collaborative research and extension projects.

Having just returned from Moncton, Canada for the US/Canada Lobster Town Meeting in January, Chris continues to build relationships within the lobster community here in Maine with this sponsorship. This is a small step in building relationships within the Maine science community with a goal of being the top leadership development resource for these incredibly hard-working science professionals!
